The Velocity Micro Cruz T408 has an 8 inch, 600 x 800 pixel display and a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor. It runs Google Android 2.3, but ships with the Amazon Appstore instead of the Google Android Market.

At about $200, it's a pretty good device for the money -- but there's not much to set it apart from the Amazon Kindle Fire or Lenovo IdeaPad A1, which each have features the Cruz T408 is missing.

  • when is the t410 review coming? :O

  • @AlwxHD Probably within the next week. It should be pretty easy to review, since it's basically the same device with a larger screen and higher price.

  • @CHILDOFHARLEM cause not everyone needs an iPad or Xoom. some people might want it just for ereading or surfing the web. You don't need a $600 device if you just want to do that.

I am very pleased with this laptop and have had it for 6 months or more. Cannot say a bad word about it... it has performed flawlessly and I would buy it again if I had to do it over again. I dumped Vista and run Ubuntu on it. Highly recommend this product!

  • Yea i think i might go with the kindle fire

  • @chrisgangsta Kindle fire is nice but the lack of a camera and microphone can be a deal breaker for some

  • right now, if u want a good 7-8" tablet its either this, ideapad a 1, or kindle

  • If you have 200 dollars and want a tablet...Amazon kindle Fire is the only way to go

  • Can't you just side-load the Android Market on there though?

  • very good review, thanks.

I don't understand why no one came up with something cheap with a competitive performance, i mean all the tabs are like so good and fast or cheap and slow. this one is slightly ok, but for a nerd, I don't think so. Its lack of software will give you problems in the future. cause you're gonna review all the cool apps and have no access to most of them.

Android is great but you don't get full access like you said, that is my main concern.

  • @26glitter It comes preloaded with both now

  • @seraph8david I just got this one go with this

  • at 2:44, at the top, why was he viewing a rule 34? *eyebrow wiggle*
