Golf Instruction Video #3 of 3: Learn new techniques by practicing with plastic practice golf balls before you spend money on the range. This golf instruction video shows how to pick a target line for a fade or draw, setup for the golf shot and then execute it correctly.
Remember:

1: If you would hit a straight shot to your intended target with a 5 iron for example, but now you are hitting a fade around an obstacle, add a club or two to get the same distance as the 5 iron; A 3 iron with the clubface opened appropriately can give the same loft as a 5 iron which will help you get similar distance to the 5 iron as well.

2: If you were to hit the same shot as a draw instead of a fade, go up to a 6 or 7 iron because when the clubface is closed, it will approximate the loft of a 5 iron giving the same trajectory and distance for the shot.

  • Damn man. You guys with backyards are lucky. I live in a condo. I have to drag a fricken swingset to the park down the block to practice. Ugh..

  • LOL.....It's 9 pm and I'm laughing my head off. Good job on the Humor!

  • I tried it (with the little white plastic balls) and real balls. It seem to work great for producing a fade, but when I tried to make it draw, it went straight. I get the point...just didn't happen for me. Any suggestions????? Also, it looked on the video that that his stance/feet were both on the same line, but no mention of it, or ball placement, etc.

  • the key to using this method is that "everything" is exactly the same as what you normally do for a regular straight shot. the only difference is that the clubface is aiming to the left or the right at your target where you want the ball to end up.

  • Not sure my local course will allow me to bring a yellow dump truck on to the fairway.

Its a great little video though, my only concern is that you dont hit a shot with a proper ball to show the extent of the fade, the weight difference in the plastic balls and authentic balls will surely make the shot harder

    nice vid though dude

  • Great job with the video, thanks for keeping it simple. There are too many instructions out there which make the task seem much more difficult. I am posting a link from my blog, I will send a track-back.

  • this is a very simple method to hitting a draw and a fade and it works great.

  • this method relies to much on timing. hes bound to duck hook it at least once in a round

  • Nice Work, That using the Kiss method.

    Thanks.

  • @craigbell3440 That is because you swing path is out to in throught the ball. It will fade or slice ok but straight on the draw as the closed club face just matches the out to in path of the swing.

  • @durs6 tried it. doesn't work for me. Which is the cool thing about golf. So versatile.

  • why dont you show your swing dip shit.... the close up of the wagon is a pretty dumb idea my man... anyway besides that, thnx ill try that swing out

  • That's the view from your backyard? ...Lucky.

  • looks like the wasatch front
