http://www.reasonablefaith.org - Dr. William Lane Craig deals with the confusion of applying the theory of the multiverse to the ontological argument.

Dr. Craig defends the Ontological argument here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=F0286AF6A4A0EA97

  • I can't get enough of these! Keep it up bro!

Just wondering, where in the world do you get all these to upload? I feel like I want to see this entire session that Dr. Craig did hah. That's not to say that I don't appreciate you uploading these, because they're awesome!

  • @IceKnight366 I get your question a lot. Honestly, I find these videos of Craig just by surfing the internet.

  • Very well said. I love how WLC channel is now on an ontological argument kick after my 2 proposed ontological arguments.

  • Well I do agree with WLC that an all-evil God wouldn't be a God at all.

However, the multiverse does make the ontological argument a lot more realistic. Otherwise the ontological argument is just pulling rabbits out of hats.

  • Isn't it obvious? Man is sinful and, contrary to popular belief, doesn't know it all. Evil exists. Period. Wouldn't a greater "Being" know all this? Yes, He has had all eternity to ponder HIS creation. Knowing if He came in human form (Let Us create..in Our image) we'd kill Him, turned this into the greatest miracle undeserving man has ever had. Eternal life. I had "experiences" with the occult. To me it isn't believing it's knowing. I'll follow the the promise of ETERNAL LIFE instead of death.

  • I think the student's question was basically "why can't we consider 'all-evil' to be an attribute of the greatest being?" Who is to say that all-good is better than, or greater than, all-evil? So the question comes down to: is it greater to be all-good or all-evil, and why?

  • I supposed they're both wrong. that "evil god" would not fit the bounds of this guys ontological vocabulary but that would not render It or Him or She or Whatever to be possible and thus materially exist in "a"multiverse. He/she/It/What could for instance be a semi god, a totally evil semi god under the name of god. Or a Hyper God.

    Is that correct?

  • @Chaowdur

I think this is a very recent video.

  • Great refutation to a very common attack against the clearly perfect Ontological Argument =)

  • what's craig up to now?

    he looks pretty young here

  • I had no idea how he was going to answer this one. Well done, Dr. Craig.
