My general response to the comments left on 'My Falsehoods':
http://nanonarcissus.livejournal.com/
If any of you are interested.

Due to comments left on many of my other videos I may be refraining from the comment section for a week or two, just to maintain my sanity.
Reading them makes me lose the will to live.

  • the "t" for your intro name looks like a cross... the Christian cross at that.

  • Not a fan of irony?

  • you're obsessed with Burial, hu?

  • I never actually listen to them outside of what I put into my videos.

    They do decent background music.

  • Lol, and here I was thinking that we had a good conversation on the comment forum on "My Falsehoods".

Anyways, good video, with points I occasionally find myself guilty of. Then again, I think that, at times, we're all guilty of at least of a couple of these flaws in argument.

  • Lol nah, I appreciated your comments. It was everyone else who seemed to jump the gun and not go out of their way to actually have a conversation.

And I agree. This is something we all do. It's very tempting.

The only way I've managed to limit it is to take time outs and come back to the discussion later. It's hard.

  • This video is exactly what I was looking for today ! This asshole "friend" of mine tried to convince me that I'm crazy because I didn't acquiesce to his pedantic unthoughtful religious crap !!

  • Although not ideal of course, cognitive dissonance that is, it is obviously a relative advantage compared to a closed minded state. Subsequently, this signifies an small opening to reason.

Currently, the world in general is filled with cognitive dissonance, which obviously means a state of doubt, thus the possibility of accepting new ideas overall. Just ask all religions in general. Obviously , the abandonment of traditions is not limited to religion; it encompasses all aspects ofculture

  • By the end of it, I wasn't sure if you were serious or speaking satirically. Almost entirely safely assuming the latter, thank you for the video. Amusing, and grandly true in a deeply personal way.

  • HUGE fan.

  • youre intelligent... and soooo sexy

  • Thank you! We were talking about this in my Rhetoric course. If I am not mistaken, gather that you are actually pointing out the flaws in human nature that cause us to shut down and never get anywhere when we disagree with each other. Far to often we are prepared to fight, be dismissive, or insult, rather than to listen and make points that might cause us to actually understand each other.

  • I agree with most of your viewpoints and try to practice some of them. This can be used for any kind of debate and that is what I am interpreting your video as. One of the best ways I find to counter is you have obtained several sources to back up what you say.
