Hola! Kristin Maack here and today's Happiness Project is all about how to fix negative thinking...
Have you ever noticed that some peoples minds go right to gloomy while others see the positive and the happy. The difficulties of our lives tend to take up a lot of space in our minds. Just imagine if we gave equal time to happiness?
Sounds great right? So how do we do this?
Well, you start by catching yourself in your negative thinking. Then, choose to think about things in a more peaceful and positive way. Then, overtime you be thinking positive without even thinking about it!
Negative thinking becomes a bad habit for many people and getting rid of bad habits is hard. So instead, think of it as building a new pathway of thinking. It doesn't to work to just stop the negative thoughts, you need to give your mind somewhere to go...
So, give it a happy place to go to.
It takes practice to think about happiness, kindness, gratitude and patience and it may feel a bit awkward initially but, with practice, it will become natural and pretty soon, you won't have to work so much at happiness.
Today I want you to catch yourself every time you think of something negative and replace that thought with something positive. While this may seem like a simple assignment, you will be amazed as to how often you allow negative thoughts to enter your mind. That being said, you will also be amazed as to how easy it is to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.
