The right-wing media have decried the Obama administration's decision to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act, claiming the move is unlawful and "a form of dictatorship." In fact, presidents from Thomas Jefferson to George W. Bush have opted against defending statutes they viewed as unconstitutional.

  • It sounds like Obama proposed a law to kill every firstborn child in America. Grow the f*** up. Gays and lesbians deserve the same rights. And if someone tries to say something like 'sanctity of marriage' or 'traditional marriage', I will remind them, that that was the same argument given in 50s to stop interracial marriages. It's not brilliant when you're recycling the same argument. It shows that you have nothing that could justify your position. Point. Set. Match.

  • fuck republicans. Patriot Act anyone?

  • Could that be an impeachable offense in violation of Art.II Sect.3 ? Of course it is. see my vids, infidels!

  • Government assumes power to license human activity. FREEDOM! (not)

Screw the States and the Fed the usurpers. Presuming to be arbitrator of individual freedom. Why the hell do you have Government creating division?

  • @itsinthenet they're not trying to change the constitution, they're not defending a law which goes against the constitution, so really he's defending the constitution...

  • @hejcoze i love you

  • @grnbbllntrck No no no, I mean sick as in blah

  • @OldaurGold I know!! they are so fucking good, it's sick!!!

  • Judge Napolitano gives clear information on this. Look up his video. He rocks.

  • I'm 101% in favor of marriage equality, but they're right: president Obama swore to defend the constitution, which outlines that only the legislative branch has the power to repeal this law, and it must go through a specific process. He cannot just up and decide not to defend a law that is still on the books. As much as I loathe "DOM"A, it's still law...for now. And he's breaching duty.
