  • you should distinguish between conduction and convection. In conduction we don't have transfer of mass so when you say that heat is molecules moving around, you might be misleading some people. Also your last experiment showed convection not conduction. In this experiment the only place where conduction occurs is at the boundary layer, which is negligible and the main source of heat transfer is through convection.
