These are examples of pet rats being aggressive. They are posted to alert people interested in helping introduce new rats to old rats, what problem behaviors look like, so we can stop the behaviors from happening. These rats were not being introduced and the owner said they were in fact cagemates. However, these are still aggressive behaviors between rats.

  • Thanks for noticing that problem. The video is actually an example of lots of problems and was posted to try to show what happens if you do things "wrong" (from my perspective). There are lots of ideas for good intros on JoinRats in the Intros galleries. I talk about the problems with this video there.

  • Thanks for the help. I thought my rats was aggressive. But their behavior is nothing like this. :)

  • Glad to see that small cage was only for transfer. Perhaps you should put up some kind of disclaimer though, that cages aren't a very good place to do intros since it's usually a territory to one or more rats, so neutral places such as a bath tub work out the best so no territory scents trigger aggression.

  • Rat: PARTY TIIIME!

    Others: NOOOOOO

  • Sure, RatPirate, tell me the link. If you've sent me other links and I haven't gotten them into JoinRats, tell me too. I'm very bad at remembering my task list. LOL.

  • @gwenlbzd

LOL. That's true. I dont know why Spot dont like the kids and other. Only me. I know he is guard. :) I think I should send you Spot and Jack II like this video. If you would like have to let me know :D

  • Awww, I'm sorry they do that! If you can, please use a glove and follow them around and when you get any hint of aggression, put your glove between them and separate them. That way they can't build up any bad feelings and instead will build up good feelings. And your Mom, I don't know about her, maybe you have to use a glove on her too. (LOL!)
