  • that was only 55mph... this is a good lesson for those who hit 55mph in 2.5 seconds where a deceleration of 195mph to 55mph is not good enough to prevent some serious body damage.. going off course due to overshooting the maximum brake point is a bad idea.. always undershoot never overshoot is all I got to say

  • poor tree ^^

  • come to india and rate the roads.

  • iim pretty sureee no one would survivde if it was over 80 mph

  • Is the tree ok?

  • The tree simply destroys the car and did not move a meter

  • was that a 55mph crash !?

  • @davek12 the car is supposed to crumple on impact so the car takes the impact

  • If you are driving at 55mph on a "sharp bend", you should expect to die. By leaving "hazards" such as trees exposed, the worst drivers are culled before they can kill other road users.

  • OMGGGGGGG

  • They are not made out of anything just thin sheet metal

  • @TheJoePepper The BMW was sliced lengthwise around the tree. Head on. E28 535i. Safety has come a long way in 25 years.

  • @davek12 They didn't say enough about how many of these accidents with trees are not head-on. Many are side-impact accidents, hitting the weakest area of the car, and that's how cars literally break in half.

  • i take mother nature each and every time :>

  • Laguna is soo cool :) it is really preform awesome xD

  • Greenpeace are searching for you ))

  • Indeed, the laguna's is exeptionally well engineered to protect it's occupants in a severe crash, but at certain speed the g-forces involved will be just to high for the human body to cope with.

I think no car design can protect you adequatly in a 100km/h+ crash against a stationary object.

    The laguna performs outstanding although...

  • It doesn't matter how badly designed the road is, people shouldn't be to stupid to realize thier going too fast.

  • BOOM!!!! MOTHER NATURE FOR LIFE

  • They didn't say enough about how exceptional the Laguna was in that crash. I've seen an '87 BMW 535 literally sliced in two by a tree at lower speed than that. Better to have a broken leg than to die, as one of the BMW occupants did.
