Update: 22 December 2010
I forgot to add "-SimMobile" to the Mobile Previewer shortcut to active OpenGL ES 2.0 rendering. Fixing this provides more accurate results.

Visit this thread for a text version, and to ask any questions. I will not be checking my youtube account very often.

My microphone sucks, so my voice seems much more annoying than it really is :) I'm also slightly annoyed by how long it took me to make this, as I like fast paced tutorials and these are a bit slow. Please excuse this.

  • thanks, helped alot. do you plan on making any more?

  • @gtmilenko I do! I've since landed a new job working with UDK, and have purchased a new 1080P monitor to work on. Do you have any suggestions?

  • @jrfps Don't embarrass yourself. The description clearly states there is a higher quality version on Vimeo, and there is a link provided. The only real reason why I uploaded it to youtube was to provide a link to the Vimeo version. Youtube's compression is horrible.

  • Thanks for doing this tutorial. It's definitely appreciated. Looking forward to more UDK Mobile tutorials from you in the future :)

  • @keres993

could you possibly do a tutorial on creating a solar system (like a star/sun thingie, and a planet orbiting it, or something like that?) - I can create a pretty convincing 2d nebula/galaxy-like background after following some Photoshop tutorials but my planet looks awful :(. or maybe do a tutorial on cinematic-related stuff: like creating intros - text animations and stuff, and animation easing - like a door that starts closing fast then, at a point, starts closing slower and slower.

  • Thank's for the guide, Was quite helpful. I just wish you would have shown how to set up in a free editor, instead of Visual Studio and nFringe. :)

  • Is it the same procedure in DefaultEngine.ini when you want to make your own PC game? They changed so much since I did this so I feel like a noob again :)
