This series of photos captures the construction of a weigh station in Perth Ontario. This weigh station is constructed on the site of the original weigh station in the Tay Basin.

The construction was completed by the Heritage Carpentry students at the Perth Campus of Algonquin College. This was a continuation of last years Mammoth Cheese Project.

This timber frame construction employs mortice and tenon joinery to hold the main frame members together. The project was staged as an old time traditional barn raising. The over 100 pieces of the structure had been pre-cut and dry fitted on College campus - allowing the entire final assembly to be completed in a day.
