Wow, the opening sequence brings back so many memories from when I went to the Opera Garnier... It's so wonderful to have a Phantom movie actually filmed there!

@15rrainwater Yes. And it can be found on good ol' youtube. It was made with portugese subtitles however but still the dialogue is in english. Simply search "The Phantom of the Opera animated " and you'll see it.
He's deliciously insane in it.
"No my dear you can not leave. You see, when a woman sees my face as you have, she may never leave. I'm sort of a Don Juan you know MUHAHAHAHA HA HA OH HO Hoooo- sob sob! (maniacal laugh that leads into sobs of despair)"
I love this Erik and the 2004/Gerard Butler version of him.

This has to be my favorite Phantom of the Opera film adaptation. It's a loose interpretation of the original book, but it's funny, with a great story behind it. And somehow they managed to get the sweetest Phantom, the meanest Carlotta, and the girliest Raoul ("Philippe") all into one production.
