The lyrics are about solipsism. And while I totally know where you're coming from with your comment on things going to shit, you really shouldn't generalize by labeling atheists as "twisted and sick," there are just as many sick and twisted religious folk as non-religious folk. Everyone's human, and religious beliefs have little to do with morals - one's upbringing has a much larger impact on whether a person will be good-natured.
