@faraat3000 AGREED! I've loved this song for decades and never once did I even THINK of it having anything to do with punching her...!!!! Back in the '50s "out goes the lights" was an easy reference to lovemaking.

you got it all wrong..boom boom out goes the lights meant when he had her he was going to shoot out the lights ( with his trusted hand gun) and make love to her to get her back...to prove he's the one...the man was a lover to the ladies...don't forget.
