  • That was definitely badass. How much data was there and how did you manage it (how many and what kind of flash memory?)

  • 8.66GB, across 2 flash cards (one 8GB and one 4GB). I changed cards when necessary, and changed batteries (I had a total of 20 AA rechargables) when necessary. Also had a DC/AC converter to use the battery charger.

  • Weird. I didn't know I-40 went all the way to your region. Here, I-40 goes through Winslow (yeah that one), past the big crater you see on astronomy docs, Flagstaff, and Kingman, Albuquerue. Parts of it are old Route 66.

  • I-40 passes through Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, and hits its eastern terminus in Wilmington

  • Love the vid but some comments:

    a) What local roads did you use in Moore County?

    b) When you entered I-73, you left off I-74 and most importantly, US 220. Most people call that freeway US 220 there.

    c) Its not I-40 there anymore. This change happend very very recently like last week (last week of June 2009). You were continuing on I-73 north and also joining I-85 southbound and US hwy 421 northbound.

    d) I-74 continues until the VA state line.

    e) I-81 also joins 77 for a bit

  • a) Ashemont Rd in Hoke County to Addor Road to Thunder Road to Hoffman to 211 (normally we would have just turned right and used 211/5, but some slow Army traffic had turned right and we were sick of following them)

    b) I only have so much screen room and decided to use the "dominant" route that we would be on the longest

    c) I thought so too, but as of Thursday 6/25, it was still signed as 40

    d) When you're going this fast, you can only be so accurate :)

    e) see B

  • That truck at :39 needs to get out the way

  • Nice you have got to make more of those.

  • wow i almost had a seizure that was pretty cool though thanks for posting.

  • Very cool. I've taken the route many, many times from Bryan, Ohio (near Toledo) to Wake Forest or Boone. Great stuff.

  • Excellent job, Bleechy. Great use of music, too.

  • Yea, thats why i was stumped. I knew the Hoffman Road part and i was guessing it was Ashemont Road. I remember parts of Thunder Road was a dirt road.

For the most part, i knew the Fayetteville roads oddly enough. That shortcut began to be heavily used after 9/11.
