Pipeline was pressurized above 900 psi. and two PipeFreezes were performed to test pipeline for leaks.
2LBin HP-104 style machine was used to perform a hot tap at 911 psi. to provide a test location between the two PipeFreezes.
A highly accurate meter was used to test any drop of pressure in the system between the Pipefreezes.
The PipeFreeze locations were very difficult to access. The pipeline lays under salmon bearing streams and bogs so positive testing was very important to the owner. The terrain made it difficult to move Liquid Nitrogen bottles.
One PipeFreeze was performed on each side of every creek or stream crossed.
With the Hot tap test location between the freezes a pressure drop could be watched carefully.
After each PipeFreeze the pipe was sand blasted, the long seam was ultra sound tested and the pipe was Magna-Fluxed at each location. No damage was reported by the PipeFreeze process. Rain or shine we can compete a testing like the video represents.
