Tom and I snowshoed to the top of Twin Sisters (11,428 feet/3,483 metres) on what was a warm spring day for most of the country. The date was April 12, 2008 and the temperature on top was about 15 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 C). Twin Sisters is a small mountain, by Colorado standards, with about 2,400 feet (731 metres) of elevation gain. Nevertheless, with over 3 feet (one metre) of snow still on the ground it took us over 3 hours to slog our way up to the summit wearing snowshoes!

Did the Twins in the summer. I bet it was quite hard in the winter! Thanks for sharing!
