There are cheese straws and there are 'Cheese Straws'. These luxurious and indulgent straws are definitely in the latter category. Puff pastry rather than the more usual short crust pastry is used, and the addition of gruyere cheese, with an egg and mustard covering, sprinkled with chilli and paprika and rosemary really does raise the taste to another level.
