I would not recommend sticking fingers in there, when my brother was in a diesel class they started a detriot 8v92, one kid said hey the turbo is not spinning, the dumbass could not tell the difference between a spinning wheel and a stopped one. so he stuck his finger in it, that was the end of his finger.....if i was the instructor i would have yelled at him and said you got finger in my engine.

@pwerwagn73 are you sure you dont mean gas turn 6000 rpm theres no way a diesel would be a 6000 rpm and you lose torque at higher rpms
Lol tell that to the Carli, kore, big dog, hrt, thuren guys.

Rosslh, you are correct, I was just Rearranging the equation to make the variable tq instead of hp since we were talking diesels and everyone was gettin all hot and heavy about tq.

93ctd, stop quoting dodgeram.orgs data. If you knew anything about the cummins you would know that 4100 rpm is exceeded ALL the time. The truck in the video even turns more than 4100, and still makes decent power there. Not ideal, but it does it. Stock rotating assy and all.

Calboy5858, the 5.9 cummins has been spun over 6k rpm in numerous trucks. Most, if not all of the unlimited class pullers spin them over 5k regularly. One even has sucsessfully hit ~7200 before it threw a rod.

@mxracer, you should read all the comments, you would realize I wasn't saying #2 is based off octane, I specified it was cetane.
