  • I can't find a 4 gig stick so I can't verify your comment on only seeing 2 gig.

On Vista, I have loaded both and have found Windows XP to be much faster. I'm planning a follow-up post on my blog to show benchmarks for both.

  • Yes, you can use a 4 GB stick as well. The only thing is that Windows XP will only recognize up to 2 GB so unless you want to try and run Vista on your mini 9 (slow when I tried it), then your 4GB stick and cost will be kind of a waste.

  • I would recommend to NOT replace and RAM or hardware while there is a CHARGED battery inside a laptop.

  • Who bothers with anti-static stuff anymore? Honestly does anybody know ANYBODY that's damaged something with static?

As for upgrading the RAM be sure to-

    1. Remove the battery during the operation

    2. Touch a grounded object or get a static bracelet
