I enjoyed this book. It was the "discovery" novel for me as to who John Irving is as a writer. Now I am looking forward to reading the other eleven!

This is a great novel. He weaves such a compelling story with wonderful characters

this is a brilliant book, although a lot of themes in Irving's books are repeated i dont care. The writing is so richly personal and honest. The last chapter honestly gave me goosebumps and as with cider house rules left me in a state of mixed emotions that i wish i had the ability to describe clearer. thanks

Just finished the book. Excellent. I find myself thinking about the characters even when I'm not reading the book. They have become like long lost friends.
The only thing I would have changed about the book is the title. I would have preferred if Irving had titled it,
"The Lost Nation of Ketchum."

Don`t you Hate it when you read the last sentence of the novel (any) of Irving. I always get sucked up in the story, so I have to say goodbye to the caracters you got to know so wel during reading.
Got them all but the newest, lookin` foreward!! ;))
