LA Scoring Strings initial test in Logic

It's always been a lingering question of which orchestral software is the most realistic and offers the most control. I've utilized a number of programs including all of the basic orchestra programs up to Vienna Strings Library. And at the moment this new product by Audiobro, "LA Scoring Strings" has really impressed me. When i hit my first note inside this program I almost giggled like a little girl. It really is some amazing software. Hope this helps. I

  • What is the most efficient way of applying velocity changes with the modulation wheel when working in your DAW? From what i understand, when recording to midi in a DAW the modulation wheel will not be "recorded".Do you just play back the midi tracks into audio tracks and then apply velocity modulations?

  • @BlackEyeDog012

Hey man. With LASS your DAW should definitely be picking up on the modulation midi, which controls the velocity. As far as being the most efficient way, I guess a lot of people have their own way (writing in the modulation with their DAW or recording it on the live.) I usually write the velocity with the mod wheel and then go back in and tweak it till I think it sits right. Hope that helps man.

  • @BlackEyeDog012

Sorry forgot to answer your main question clearly I think. The mod wheel should definitely be recording as you adjust your velocity parameters

  • Nice music. The lexicon sounds great. What reverb setting are you using? And what is the plug-in at the bottom right screen?

  • Hi, Kevin.

Thanks for the note. Yeah the lexicon reverb makes a world of difference.. a much warmer and controlled reverb than delay designers, etc. The plug-in at the bottom right of the screen is a visualizer from "Nugen." They've got some amazing plugs in there bundle package. Their "stereoizer" and "stereoplacer" are some pretty amazing plug-ins as well. Cheers my friend.

  • Hiya, I was wondering if you would maybe orchestrate a score for me using this software? Let me know :)

  • Great music man! just great....

  • Where did you find the sheet music for this? It's so beautiful.

Btw, this is one of my favorite videos because of the way the strings sound. lol

  • Very nice work.

I have a question. Im using LASS in Logic 9 and i want to draw in veloctiy fades for some violin parts but i don't know how to map the the velocity of the various patches in LASS to a controller on my keyboard ? any chance of you shedding some light on this or telling me what midi CC is linked to velocity so i can just draw it in in Logic ?

  • LASS hands down the best library out there but non the less you need a talented person like this joel guy to pull off such a beautiful score like that!

  • This is incredible, I love it. Awesome job. :)

  • Big Orchestra for me i love this music !

  • best lass demo i've ever heard. so damn realistic

  • Does this work on Windows 7 and FL Studio? I´m interested to know because I love to create orchestrated music and I´ve been looking for strings like this.

  • just love it .. very nice ..best wishes !!
