SharkTeeth - DCS Black Shark beauty shots and Lock-On action

A personal video of beauty passes taken from an early version of Black Shark. The second half of the video is multiplayer footage of the old 404th squad taking off and setting up a 'wheel' followed by a classic case of CFIT as we're too busy yapping and getting lost.

Anyway, Black Shark is out now. It's the most amazing simulation of helicopter flight ever made. Gets Flexman's two thumbs up and a worthy successor to the Longbow 2 crown.

I used some music by Yoko Kanno which is a song of people searching for a new promised land that isn't real (virtual). Seemed appropriate at the time. It's a few years old and was made in the space of an evening from lots of FRAPS footage. It won't win any awards for cinematography or story telling but it is is some sort of chronological order.

Ratz is the A10 pilot with his wheels still down having control issues, and Cyclic goes nose first into the mountain (followed by me who was watching it all happen in slow motion at the time).

The video was from two sims, an early Black Shark and Lock-On: Flaming Cliffs which allows you to fly a number of fixed wing aircraft such as the A-10.

What editting software did you use to make this outstanding movie?

It was edited using Sony Vegas 5, the home edition, Platinum I think it was called, a good budget package for what you could do with it. It was made late 2006. Footage was recorded using FRAPS which consumed approx 100Gb, only a small amount of it was used.

Mountains are A-10-magnets. Made a navigation Training Mission once, but didn't remember the bad thrust-weight ratio of the A-10. It was impossible to reach the last waypoint, high on top of that mountain :D
