We've all driven by those huge oil fields scattered throughout various parts of the country. Ever wonder how those oil wells are able to stand all that monotony? That's the question that inspired me to create this video, shot at the Chevron "Lost Hills" oil field in Kern County, California, located off both sides of Highway 46.

  • look at the counter weights, the bigger, the deeper the well Most of those wells are very shallow. If you don't pump them, the oil will eventially seep into the ocean, or the drinking water

  • how many pump jacks are on this server lol

  • looks like a workout video

  • Sped up a little I guess...

  • nice effects

  • What a cool place. Yes, perhaps it looks a bit excessive, but right now we need the oil and these machines are fascinating to watch.

  • interesting

  • There's one large pump on the north side of 46 we named "Jonathon", Whenever we drive by we wave and see how he's doing. Don't worry, he doesn't talk back.

  • nice music
