How to Create a Minecraft Beta Server [Easiest way - NO PORT FORWARDING]

Just a brief tutorial on how you can set up a minecraft SMP server without any network complications. This makes a private server so anybody who wants to play on it has to know your hamachi network user & password so it reduces the chances of griefing or hacking. This works for Windows only (McAdmin fails to open on MAC OS).

Q. Could not find main class: net.minecraft.server.minecraft server help please?
A.To resolve, this, try updating java to latest version. If still not working, head over to http://www.minecraft.net/servers.jsp and download the server software. Of the downloaded files, copy the minecraft-server.jar file into the mcadmin folder and replace the file already there.

Q: Whenever I try to pick up blocks, they reappear instantly.
A: The spawn area is protected from mining or placing so move out 20 blocks and you should be able to pick up blocks.

Q. Whenever I try to connect it says : "User not premium". How do I fix this?
A. Fix it by buying the game legally. Minecraft checks online servers to make sure users have registered and fully paid for the game via their website - the only place you can legally buy minecraft.

Q.Whenever i close the mcadmin the world regenerates into a new one?
A. Click save or backup on the McAdmin console before you stop the server.

Q. I get this message whenever I start the server:
WARNING] **** FAILED TO BIND TO PORT!
[WARNING] The exception was: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind
[WARNING] Perhaps a server is already running on that port?
A. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and click task manager. At the bottom there should be an option to show all user processes. Confirm this and look for java.exe or something similar and right click, end task and now your server should run again.

Q. Nobody can join my server :(
A. Try turning off your firewall.

Q. I can't connect to my own server - it's bulls*it!!!!!!!!

Q. I want to build on the spawn but I can't.
A. Type your username into the ops.txt file inside the mcadmin folder and click save.

Q. Does everyone who wants to play on my server need Hamachi?
A. Yes. Every player.

Q. I get a warning message appear on mcadmin : "Warning! Can't keep up, did the system change or is the server overloaded?"
A.That is a hardware limitation. This message usually appears if the computer is struggling to handle the demands of the server software. Try closing any unnecessary files. The server will still run with this message btw, but it might be slightly laggy.

Q,I get this message, help? "Something Done Goofed- external IPSystem.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server --- System.Net.Sockets.SocketExcep tion"
A. Go into the McAdmin folder and right click mcadmin.exe. Click properties and under compatibility, try running under windows xp and click apply. If this doesn't work, try this: try updating java to latest version. If still not working, head over to http://www.minecraft.net/servers.jsp and download the server software. Of the downloaded files, copy the minecraft-server.jar file into the mcadmin folder and replace the file already there.

Q. My IP ain't on the list on the dropdown menu. Thumbs up so everyone can see?
A. You can manually enter the IP by opening up the server properties file located in the mcadmin folder. Open it with notepad and save once you are done.
