School tends to be about learning serious stuff - how to read, how to write, how to do math. But research shows that how you teach these subjects may make all the difference, and that a little humour engages the child, and actually stimulates more of the brain. That heightens creativity in problem solving, and helps with memory retention. The panel includes teacher and stand-up comic Steve Brinder, parent and humour columnist Kathy Buckworth, and Mary Kay Morrison, an educator and author of "Using Humor to Maximize Learning".

  • mr. brinder taught at my school today and he truly knows how to engage the students into actually caring about what he is talking about by using humor. most teachers are stupid and kids take advantage of them, having a good teacher is definetly a big part of your education and the TDSB should be more aware of this, teachers should be more like steve brinder. best teacher ever and its also pretty cool how he knows russell peters!
