I love the unique personality of this instrument. So different.

My understanding is that Mutin had some of the orchestral stopwork removed from the organ before it was moved to Sacre Couer. I can only imagine what the original organ must have sounded like.

I will have to Agree.

Beautiful flute stop - almost sounds like the real thing!

it is in the 6 CDs collection from Motette\Ursina "Cavaillé-Coll Jubiläumausgabe"

Perfect!!! Amazing!!!
Does anyone know where I can get CD with this improvisation?

wow this is amazing. just think what kind of mood some one would be in to improvies like that.

I LOVE the Voix célestes Cavaillé-Coll built.
The best is still in Saint-Sulpice, I just love it, and how daniel roth plays it.

I could not agree more! You are absolutely right. When the light is allowed to come through the stained glass, or even regular glass in a Greek revival or colonial styled church, the effect is incredible. The lights take away from it.
Daniel Roth's improvs are nearly always done for church services, in this instance it is a deliberately quiet and meditative piece for the Offertory in the Mass, and is quite extended. In the JAV CD of the Widor Mass at St. Sulpice Roth's improv on another Marian hymn, Salve Regina, is in the much more dramatic postlude style. Daniel Roth's talent and versatility are marvelous!

I see your point but I don't agree at all. The thing is that you said that the result of making music is empty, and that I think is very wrong. I feel that music isn't mady by notes but of thoughs. Music is one (The best way) way to speak. Music is made to make you feel something, to touch, the same applies to improvisation.
