@sperch3d Yes, you can use xenon flash tubes or high intensity LED lighting. It is "strobed" to match the speed of the rotating disc. Google Zoetrope. It looks much nicer when seen with the eye and not a camera.

Do you have to use flickering lights in order to create the illusion of movement for the naked eye?
