The Church's Inquisition was set to torture and kill those who disbelieved in the Bible. Not only that, they also tortured and burned those alive who believe in the Bible but disagreed with the Church's interpretations.

Men, women and Children of 12 years and above were all subject to this torture and slow death if they did not give up their faith and accept the interpretations of the Church.

  • I hate how this is painted as Christians murdering those who disagree. That's like saying it was Jews sending people to camps in Europe. It's demon worshipers murdering Christians.

A little homework on the roman catholic gods would reveal that.

2Cr 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

  • You fail to recognize the major step forward in civil rights some of these "commandments" were. No, they are not what we might like to see, but they were better than anything else that was present in the world at that time. The Ephesians passage you cut off too soon. Their are instructions to slave owners as well. If you want to argue the Scriptures, you must do so in context. Otherwise we might as well quote the Psalmist The fool says in his heart there is no God, and be done with it.

  • @charisclydes When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

  • @charisclydes "Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)

  • @charisclydes "If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

  • @charisclydes (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) "If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife."

  • @charisclydes (Deuteronomy 20:10-14) "As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder."

  • @sTapleEVA OK, quote the Scriptures, using only the original context and not your interpretation of that context.

  • @McLarenMercedes But as a direct answer to your statement, I’ll say that I do not live my life according to Jesus’ philosophy nor do I even want to as I am not in the least bit interested in God and his teachings not because I don’t believe he exists but because I believe I owe nothing to God. This applying more so if there is a God not less.

  • @McLarenMercedes I can only speak for myself. I’m an agnostic yet I’ve read the bible and consider that if it is true then God is evil and wishes nothing but to torture people with idiotic rules that all we must do is worship him. Regarding Jesus,God is simply saying I want to punish all of you for your sins (we have none since we should be free to live our lives as we wish and if God does not like that is his problem) but what I’ll do is punish my son instead and for this you must be grateful.
