Br Guy Consolmagno the Vatican Astronomer is interviewed by Marcus Connaughton while on a visit to Cork. Br Guy Consolmagno was a special International Guest Speaker for the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies.Br Guys visit to Ireland was supported by DIAS, Blackrock Castle Observatory , Gonzaga College COSMOS , SDAS and The Irish Astronomical Society. Guy is a Rory Gallagher fan for many years he was on a walking tour of Rory Gallagher's Cork. He stopped off at the library to see the collection of guitars and other memorabilia held there to the memory of Rory.
Br Rory Gallagher (born Liam Rory Gallagher, 2nd March, 1948 died 14th June, 1995) was an Irish blues/rock guitarist. Born in Ballyshannon, County Donegal, Ireland, he grew up in Cork City in the south of the country. He is best known for his solo albums, and for his tenure in the band Taste during the late 60s. A multi-instrumentalist who gained a reputation as a gifted and charismatic live performer, Rory Gallagher's albums have sold in excess of 30 million copies worldwide.
