So true... I remember when I was in school  there was a lightskinned girl and she was ugly (im sorry to say that but its true) and she had alot of attention from other guys. I am a dark skinned woman myself and it took me a long time to accept myself for who i am. Now not trying to be cocky but I get alot of attention. I also think that confidence is the key to everything and ignorant people just need a reality check when it comes down to beauty standards.

a lot of dark skin girls I had a lot of validatioin about being dark and beautiful from my family. I only lost my confidence during my 6th and 7th grade years and that self pity crap was just boring to me lol so I moved on and after that even on my bust-down days I got play although it still astounds me haha and not only that I know I have soooooo much more to offer than my looks and the more depth and cultivation you allow yourself the more your beauty manifests itself within and seeps through

I am dark skinned but don't have low self esteem. I understand the history behind why we place the lighter skinned of our race on pedestals. I treat all people the same regardless of color. I have never felt jealousy towards light skinned women because physical beauty has to do more with features other than skin color :-)

I do agree that people gossip too much when they don't even look good themselves.. now I aint gay or anything but I remember some of my friends were talkin about some girl in a bad way behind her back.. and the girl didn't even look bad she was just kinda tall and skinny.. and they were like eww look @ that girl.. but they weren't exactly the "lookers" themselves..
