Using Midify to sync GlitchDS with sequencer

I'm using GlitchDS's "strum mode" to sync it with a MIDI sequencer. Basically I'm sending MIDI notes to the Midify board which converts them and presses the "left" button on the DS at the beginning of the loop and the "right" button every 1/8th note.

Since I get to control exactly when GlitchDS advances to the next step I could get really fancy with the timing if I wanted.
