This is the afternoon commute from San Francisco to the Oakland Hills - Montclair. Except the opening and closing seconds, I evenly time-lapsed the footage at 32x speed, to better indicate the congestion zones.
We started southbound on Van Ness, by City Hall, at a quarter past four o'clock...and arrived forty-five minutes later in Oakland's Montclair District, heading down Moraga Avenue. Traffic was much lighter than usual on that mid-summer afternoon, particularly on CA-24E. The stretch from the I-580/CA-24E interchange all the way to the Caldecott Tunnel is usually at a crawl, deep into rush hour. However, this video captures the typical congestion west of the Bay Bridge.
