Just some suggestions and roughly the way I handle calls. There is more than one way to do this and every call is different. Enjoy!

  • Nice closing transition as you smoothly told the customer you could wrap it up with a deposit today, good way of asking for the business..

  • That's actually very kind of you. HA! I think I probibly do better closes in real life.

  • is DJing your only job or do you have a day job too?

  • That's all I do right now. Honestly it's all I really have time for. Dealing with agents and such takes a lot of my daytime hours.

  • some parties have to be cleaned and by the end time on hall contract . this way offering the $50 per half hour is a better way to go . pending on the gig some people might think well this dj charges a 100 per hour but i can only afford another hour and a half . so you can screw yourself out of some extra cash . $150 or $100 . $50 or $0 .

  • Oh I go 1/2 hour a lot. I've even gone $25 for an extra 15 minutes!

  • Excellent video, I have found it helpful to get the customers phone #. Even if they price shop you, u might get a second chance to try to book them with a follow-up call

  • This by far has to be the BEST video i have seen! I took notes, like you wouldnt beleive! lol

  • I just gotta say, I like your vids, BUT, it took you a long time just to get the basics, were I on the other end I might loose patience.

  • by the way, this tips are awesome, more like classes actually, THX THX THX A LOT!!

  • so, what happens when they come to you while your dj-ing and ask you how much do you charge???

  • oblong hall,,, haha that was funny

  • £380.55 in UK GBP

That is an acceptable price for a Wedding, but a 2hr Party would only cost £150.00

  • Brian Can you please do a video on what to charge. Most wedding right know I am charging 600 a show.

  • That's another great piece of advice! I sometimes struggle with that; knowing how to ask for the sale and closing a sale. I was wondering if you could give me an idea (or anybody out there) how long do you usually hold a date for when waiting for a deposit after the contract is sent out? Also how do ensure getting paid with a deposit for very last minute events? I actually went through this on this past Friday night. Thanks for any way you can help me!!

  • Very helpful video. Thanks, Brian!
