Universal has released a variety of television spots for their highly-anticipated film adaptation of Les Miserables. In the clip we just received, we see Anne Hathaway taking one of the most critically acclaimed songs from the play, I Dreamed a Dream -- take a look

In the movie, Anne Hathaway of course plays Fantine -- and there's already buzz swirling around that she'll nab best actress nominations come awards show season.
In the December issue of Vogue though, Hathaway reveals that she almost did not land the job! Anne said the studio heads initially thought she wasn't old enough to take on the role of the suffering mother -- but, she was determined to prove them wrong.
The talented brunette also opened up about how she shaved off 25 pounds for part, revealing she survived by eating nothing but two squares of "dried oatmeal paste" each day.
She ADDED QUOTE: "I had to be obsessive about it—the idea was to look near death....Looking back on the whole experience—and I don't judge it in any way—it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway."
Les Mis also stars several other Hollywood A-Listers, including Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe. The movie hits theaters on Christmas day.

i watched this movie yesterday. it was my second time seeing it, and when anne hathaway sang i dreamed a dream, i tried not to cry, but the moment she said, "But there are dreams that cannot be!" and the tears rolled down her face, i completely lost it.

I get insane shivers in so many scenes in this movie. I honestly didn't know a thing about it, but I just knew it'd be good.

So, I just recently watched it, and I swear five minutes in, I'm sobbing. And that was before Anne comes out. Imagine how I was when she actually did? lol. I honestly recommend the film even if you don't like musicals. It's so good.
