The basic plot of the video game version of Dante's Inferno has the poet battling demons and Satan himself to save the soul of a defenseless Beatrice. Those who have read the Divine Comedy know that Beatrice sets the plot in motion in order to save the soul of a lost and confused Dante.

In the hopes of providing Beatrice with as much agency as possible and reversing this unfortunate reversal of the original narrative arc, here is a remix of some clips from the trailer set to Beatrice's speech via Virgil in Inferno II (verses 61-73).

The audio is a reading by Lino Pertile from the Princeton Dante Project. Any concern for the game's impact on Dante's reception is due to Teodolinda Barolini.
