I'm really trying to make myself like the fermented soy product from Japan called Natto. It's been difficult trying to do so, and here's a video of one of my attempts.

  • FFS!!! I just can't stand those people who are trying exotic food without knowing how to eat it!!! First of all, if its the first time u eat natto, have some rice with it! Then, if ur not dumb, take a few to begin, then try it another time, it won't be easier by having a lot of it in a row! Finally, ur brain has to get used to something new, that looks not good in its appearance and smells, so you will have to eat it 2 or 3 times before it will admit you wont die of it & apreciate it...Noob!

  • @okpoloo I'm going to be gettin back on the Natto thing shortly. Thanks for calling me a Noob, it brightens my day!

  • Haha I love this guy. Wonder what's more appalling...a bowl of natto or a nice slice of roquefort cheese.

  • Man, I like Roquefort cheese.

Maybe I will eat more natto to get better at it.

  • The part of Japan I live in (Kansai), not too many people like it. Natto is usually eaten in the Kanto and northern regions.. But I enjoy its slimy, bitter-savoury-unwashed-foot-sole-stinky taste.

After eating Jellied eels, "Bagoong" Filipino rotten fish-paste, and Giant African Snails in peanut soup (thanks Mum and Dad) for 15 or so years growing up in London, I graduated to the "able to eat anything (within good reason)" state of mind. And this is why multiculturalism works. o.O

  • I love natto!

  • @Jkready111

Do you eat pig? They eat their own poop, so technically pigs are poop because you are what you eat right? So you eat your poop and let Japs enjoy their HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS soy beans :)

  • Add mustard aswel an eat it with rice

Then tell me if it tastes good so i will try it :P

Lol just some videos of people eating it that way

And since your fearless please do me the favour, im physically emotionally afraid :| haha

  • ahaha i loved your expression and how you called it vile. It was hard for me too! there are some videos on youtube that talks about how to make it easier to eat it. I think there are many interesting recipes, like with miso soup, in a seaweed roll, etcc - however I'll never, EVER do natto pasta and toast.

  • I know how you feel. I'm also trying to get myself to enjoy Natto. In fact I'm buying some more tomorrow, even though I'm still not quite used to the taste. :)

  • I hate how ameicans eat natto :|

  • it tastes like smoked cheese with some coffee... as a vegetarian i added natto to my diet... is not a delicious food (actually it has a bad after taste), but it's good and healthy. you can pretty much get full by eating only a pack of natto with rice and a miso soup! its also cheap!

  • Adding soysauce? That's just WRONG.
