  • is the oboe out of tune,or is the the orchestra?

  • This is a community (amateur) orchestra playing for fun (& their friends & families) not some big pro orchestra that gets paid thousands to practice every day & make things perfect.

Give these guys a break - considering what they're aiming at, they're doing pretty well (& this is a professional musician writing!)

  • I hope that my thoughter (10 years) shell playing as katharina beautifull

  • @turbomech77 I disagree respectfully. D, Db, B, and A from the oboe are all correct according to my electronic tuner. It's the string section that is not in perfect tune with each other. For example, at 0:46 and at 0:50, one can easily hear one of the strings already out of tune. At 2:25/2:26, one of the strings seemed to have gotten more out of tune than at the start of the piece. The oboe player plays well and has good intonation throughout, but there is certainly room for improvement.

  • @rudly i noticed the D on the oboe was slightly flat. D is probably the nastiest not to tune, along with Db

  • I want to learn this. But my tone is awful ):

  • @kyuubisharinan3296 It sound BEST on oboe when you have someone who can play it. Sadly, most oboist who play this can't play it well. Look at Carlos Romano's performance of this piece. Best performance EVER.

  • @MsCrazygirls123 I'm sorry to disappoint you, but they are far from in tune (all of them) to be honest, but they did great. They did exactly what a community group is supposed to do. Provide performance outlets for individuals who wish to continue playing their instruments non-professionally. PS.... I would recommend obtaining a copy of the Tuning CD and working with it extensively if you play the oboe (as I do) and think this is in tune.

  • you guys need to shut up the oboe is in tune in fact i play the oboe and the orchestra is in tune

  • They are all out of tune...very bad

  • i think its not flat its in tune

  • @rudly It's the oboe. It's consistently flat throughout the entire performance.
