Part 1, Old news footage of one Native American Indian high school teens efforts to change her high schools Indian mascot. The High School Indian mascot was demeaning to local Native people and the protest was on. Both sides were represented in the news media concerning this topic that has been important to many Native Americans.

maybe we should make a mascot of the white man, make it look greedy and eavil

but using mascots is not an accurate description of indigenous tribes and their culture. Nothing is wrong with people wanting to learn more about native americans. but its the fact that using mascots is a generalization on indigenous people . Not every tribe had warrior head dresses or dressed like plaines indians.

Miss Pink appears to me that she is frustrated maybe about something besides the mascot issue. She needs a man to show her the way the truth and the light and then maybe she will calm herself down a bit. Again..........why is it acceptible for only indian schools to use indian mascots?

The school does not have to change the name, but they should change the mascot! There is a difference!!!

américans native uses native mascots with honour. and not by racism, as we see on some slogans white schools. Why not call your mascots, the killers with an picture of custer in the process of browse grass of little big horn?

@bgoddess01 Thanks for that info.  I still think the sensitivity level needs turned down a bit. I mean it is not much justification for native american schools using native american mascots.
