THE LINK TO THE HEX CHART HAS BEEN FIXED!!! READ BELOW!!!

The "Ditto Trick" (sometimes called the "Extended Mew Trick") allows you to capture any of the 151 Pokémon in the first generation GameBoy games without using a cheating device. You are also able to capture most, but not all, of the glitch Pokémon like Missingno. and LM4. If it is unclear in the video, the stat that affects which Pokémon you encounter is the "Special" stat (the one that was split into Special Attack and Special Defense in the later games). I recommend using Calcium to alter the Special stat value of your Pokémon.

Go to where it says "THE DITTO GLITCH"
I know this is just for yellow but all the pokemon are the same (the glitch pokemon won't be though)

  • So to do the glitch again, just find another ditto and go to lavender town? You don't have to press start again and fly away from that dude multiple times?

  • @elektrik989 you have to start the glitch over again from the very beginning (flying away from the trainer) each time you want to do this

  • @Empolo18 Well, you may encounter a MissingNo. or another Pokémon like it and it will multiply the sixth item you have in your bag as soon as you encounter it, even key items, like fossils. You can get a lot of Kabuto, Omanyte and Aerodactyl :)

  • Did you know that if you catch a certain "Glitch" Pokémon by doing this and trade it to G/S/C you will get a Totodile with the same attacks as your "Glitch" Pokémon in R/B/Y? You can teach it Ice Beam, Submission, and other attacks that Totodile normally doesn't learn and trade it to G/S/C... :) To help you out with that "Glitch" Pokémon, I think the Special of your Pokémon must be 198, when you encounter it it will be a Golduck-like Pokémon, catch it, teach it good moves, and trade it! Works!

  • i have like a million old ambers and dome fossils cuz i wanted more than one extinct pokemon haha now i have to many !! the item duplicaton + ditto effect = my diploma from the dude in celedon! which means i got a degree in pokecheats!

  • @TheKetsuban Doing the MissingNo. glitch is considered cheating in my book. Be it you didn't use a gameshark, but it's still gaining more than the coded amount of an item. Therefore I believe it to be cheating.

  • @Empolo18 One would be prudent to do one's research and find that the uploader had most likely encountered MissingNo. before and then shuffled their items.

  • Does glitch w/o cheating, but has 98 Master Balls. All credibility I had for you is now gone.

  • @skguy729 1995, I used to play the Trading Card Game (Not the video game, but the actual card game)

  • @StrikerZero6 1998

  • @mickiemc100 you mean missingno? its a glitched pokemon

  • what in gods name is that abomination at the end 0_o
