There is a difference between punk rock and NYHC. Punk was and always will be a fad while NYHC, and HC in general, is a way of life that never ends. Not downing punk, too many great bands to diss, but HC, especially NYHC, was always an expression to take to the heart rather than a fad that faded with the plaid pants and funny hair cuts. Punk is a mere memory for most I grew up with as they modified themselves to blend into adulthood. I never blended in to a fucking thing, why NYHC rules!!!
