Panda Bear is a genius...you know he has his hands all over walkabout. Even if its an "Atlas Sound" song, Panda most likely did all the sampling and badassery. Listen to the CD person pitch. Walkabout sounds like it could be on the Album.
Atlas sound sampled the song. he did not recreate it. Two different songs. This song is amazing, as is walkabout. and if anyone is seriously disappointed that Brad Cox sampled a song. shut up. just enjoy the music.
What's with this Atlas 'Walkabout' and acknowledging them more instead of the Dovers! Pitiful & mostly uncool new generation (not all are, thankfully).
The 60's and the past is done. It's good that many younger ones appreciate this time. Still, don't just copy-come up with something of your own.
Once again, you're completly besides the point. Atlas Sound did not rip the 60s of, but sampled a catchy tune. Apart from that, where are the similarities between this folkrock song and Atlas Sounds Hip Hop beats?! When Detroit Techno started, they sampled old funk tunes. Again, were they the "new uncool generation"?! Invention comes doesnt start in a vaccum, but by working on older material and tranforming it into something else. You just seem to want to appear cool" Wee, you're not.
You're right in some ways. It's true that any music, even going back a long time, was many times derived/borrowed from others. It's real hard to have an original sound.
The problem and what's wrong is~ when artists take someone's music and don't give any credit, e.g. Led Zeppelin. Hope Atlas and the others that sample give those they took from their proper due.

Enough ranting
