Two Rebels Chapter 12 Part 2

-Nelena, Nick's POV-
We reached the small cabin sooner than I expected. Selena was looking around, taking everything in.
"Wow, it's beautiful here," she said.
"It is beautiful. Do you want to go inside?"
"Sure..."
We went inside the cabin. It was one story, had white siding and baby blue shutters. The inside was painted white and brown with wood furniture and trim. Selena loved it. There were three bedroom, but Selena didn't want her own. She wanted to be in the same one as me. I wasn't complaining...
She threw her bags in the corner and I did the same. I kicked off my shoes. My feet hurt so bad.
"So... Do you wanna get some sleep?"
"Kinda... But first, shouldn't we go get food and stuff?"
"We have food. I had someone stock the fridge and stuff."
"Cool!" she said and giggled.
"You're a nerd, Selena.. but that's one of the reasons I lo...like you."
"Wait what was that?" she asked?
"Nothing.." I said and looked away. She was standing very close to me.
"Are you sure?"
"uhh...," was all I got out. She was in very close quarters. There was hardly any space between us, and it was very distracting.
"Because it kind of sounded like you were about to say something besides 'like.' Were you?"
"uh.. Maybe."
"What were you gonna say?"
I took and deep breath and let it out slowly. I might as well tell her. "I love you."
She smiled at me and my fear and nervousness disappeared. Her lips met mine briefly and as she pulled away, she whispered the words, "I love you, too."
I smiled at her, relieved that she had the same feelings I did.
"So um.. We better get to bed," she said.
"Yeah.."
She got her bag from the corner and went to the bathroom. I stood there, dazed, still having the feel of her lips on mine.
