Lisa Koperqualuk is an Inuit woman from Puvirnituq, Quebec on the eastern shores of the Hudson Bay. She is a member of the Kativik Environmental Quality Commission as well as acting as Interim President for the Saturviit Inuit Women's Association in Nunavik. In 2005, Lisa competed for a place on an expedition to Mount Everest base camp with the Makivik Corporation. Throughout her life she has worked as an advocate and educator on Inuit culture, speaking at various universities on such topics as

James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, Makivik Corporation, Nunavik, Inuit of Nunavik, Inuit of Canada, Agreement in principle toward a Nunavik government, and how globalization affects Inuit society. In addition, in September of 2003, Lisa acted as interpreter to the Nunavut delegation and Premier Paul Okalik's visit with France's then President Jacques Chirac.
