Chubb is a very intelligent dude and that is what lacks in the music today intelligence and the wherewithal to not record every thing that comes to your head for the quest for a hit single or download or whatever.

To say Hip Hop is dead is a retarded statement. Hip Hop will never die. That mentality makes guys like Regan and Bush sr right in their assumption that Rap was a phase. All you gotta do to find good hip hop is close your eyes to the mainstream. BEP was good hip hop. They aint no more. More like dance music. Dudes like Talib Kweli , Mos Def and Lupe Fiasco are holding it down. I could list more.

The album 'Bridging The Gap' is awesome. Chubb can still lay a top notch hiphop tune (unlike Mr LL - what was it he said "RnB only stands for rough brother - ahh the irony:) Anyway whats going on with this interview in 2007 saying his wife passed away and yet quote from wikipedia - In 2011 Chubb Rock appeared with his wife and childhood sweetheart of 24 years, Mrs KeKe "Diamond" Simpson on the NBC game show "The Marriage Ref." and she also appeared on the Summertime Anthem. Can anyone explain??

I really understand that people speak what you know! we are more than hip hop so research and broaden your music knowledge. The times, the industry, our motivation and where we are mentally affects the product of our music. Give hip hop its chance to mature and it will. People don't know how great hip hop is just because it is changing. Black music Black love Black talent. Lets all encourage each other to further our education.

question: does anyone besides me really think this interviewer is truly qualified to be interviewing someone as great as chubb? this guy looks like he listens to more mariachi than hip hop.

The fan base is out there...the Gen-X'ers (like myself) will always love old school hip hop...it never gets "old" to me. I wish we had more...can hip hop be resurrected? Maybe...
He looks really well!
