Excellent. The song is meant to be sung from the dregs of despair and painful beauty of a life lived if only out of spite.

@oilcraze Hornets don't keep nests for herds.

The voice sounds like Johnny. And the guitar playing too. Johnny Cash wasn't the best guitar player either if you ever take musical history

Good try, well done. Actually better than a lot so-called singers who can't even sing but made hundreds of millions. I don't want to mention the name of the groups, as that can really agitate the hornet's nest of the herd.

I am a full time singer - doing 120-150 dates full time all over the country. I have released 5 professional level CD's and have played classic country and gospel for thousands of people.I'm telling you this not to brag, but to tell you how MOVED I was with your performance on this song. People who don't like it miss the point of how the song is supposed to be sung. You are REAL in your performance and SINCERE. Kris&John didnt care if their guitars/voices were exacting. You nailed it my friend

Sounds almost as bad as Kristofferson! Kris is one helluva writer, but he can't carry a tune in a bucket! Kinda like Bob Dylan.

the voice IS nice... you're being stupid 'bout that... but that guitar is awfull, that is for sure.
Heartfelt, no doubt. Dreadful, nevertheless.

Beautifully put. Thanks for the 'heartfelt'. Means I'm 70 per cent there--according to an old singing teacher. As for the 'dreadful', I'm working on it. Watch for the new version.
