@mikeshanklin The idea that you are shaping anything outside of your own group of people is assuming a lot.
You are also assuming a lot about people that run for office here as well. I'm finding it hard to accept any explanation that is based on such an irrational assumption of what Individuals are thinking and doing and their motivations.

Hi Joe,
No one is demonizing people who believe they are protecting themselves from coercion. He is suggesting that if you understand that you are using coercion to get your way, you are immoral. The people you write about here consider their actions to be self defense. I have many friends that are libertarian that consider voting self defense.

@BanditoWalrusGames Things can go wrong, but that doesn't mean that we let go of the system we use, in any situation. We'd be nowhere now if we did it that way. People are fighting to straighten how things work. Its not about letting go.

You guys have a good message, but we have a chance of getting a libertarian in office who could potentially end the federal department of education. This would be a HUGE move in the advance of voluntarism- less indoctrination of the young people. If you were a slave and your master offered you water or milk, would you just say "nah this system sucks" and not take your pick just to prove a point? Or would you live the best you can while under control despite not sending a message?

@brush200400 The difference is, the choice between your slave owner giving you water or milk does not require support for an aggressively violent system on peaceful people, like in statism...
What is worst is that people now believe that state's rights, government borders, taxation (albeit lower rates), and statism = freedom.... which we know is the opposite of the truth.

Your rational is off. The system itself doesn't need votes to legitimize itself. It only needs to justify it's existence through coercion, which it does daily. Voting is the method by which people involved can influence the course of the statism.
Your path of Passive Resistance is something I can appreciate, but not everyone will agree with non-involvement, and those people should not be held as immoral or unethical for their choice. That would be part of that control through Coercion.

@Joe11Blue I would rather shape the society towards the nonaggression principle than vote for politicians who advance the ideal that the state is actually able to do some good. I don't know one politician who is a realist/voluntaryist. They all believe in using threats of aggressive coercion on peaceful people who simply disagree.
