Originally farming country but in 1949 Salisbury North was developed as a major Housing Trust Area. As part of an urban improvement plan, it is now going through another change introducing gardens, streetscapes and urban community development. Consultation with local residents identified what people want in their neighbourhood. A home and land donated by the Council and Henley Homes was auctioned with proceed going to the Flinders Neo Natal Unit. The Urban Improvement Project will take place over many stages and already has achieved, renovation of Housing Trust homes, New Home Developments, Education pathways for careers and new manufacturing jobs. New momentum and spirit is gaining as residents experience the positive change and pride in their neighbourhood.
