A 1958 Mercury Monterey Phaeton Sedan that I have owned for 2 years and are finally taking out of storage to get it going. The car has an MEL 383 and Merc-O-Matic. The noise in the backround is my neighbor cutting his grass.

@7075745 Hi there is a Mercury wreckers in California called Big M about an hour north of Sacramento on interstate5 and they have lots of 57's and 58's for parts their phone # is 530-473-2225 Hope this helpd you in finding parts for your car.

god, i remember these....my best friends father had one of these in a gray-ish silver color...and yeh.....the reverse way the hood opens. As I remember it was a good car

I'm glad you have it out to get it going! I have a '58 Montclair 2dr phaeton (htp.) with 41,500 original miles! Part of me says enjoy it, the other says keep the original miles down. 'Afraid' I'm gonna enjoy it! Cheers and the best of luck!!!

Yes, I actually drive the car. This Merc has been sitting most of it's life as it has just under 21,000 on it. I crindge about putting miles on it. But the car drive so good. Plus it gets about 16-17 on the highway cruising about 65.
