  • @up2driveacct If you associate tax cuts with jobs moving to Mexico and China I would love to hear about the correlation.

Even Clinton cut capital gain tax, and the Republican controlled congress and senate controlled the budget leading to

    surplus.

  • The TCP/IP protocol adds packet headers to data which NN proponents claim can be used by ISPs to sniff packets. While *possible*, it's usually a waste of money and effort for an ISP to do this because the payoff is both meager and indirect, whereas the loss of customers for doing this results in a very real profit drop. The intended purpose behind packet headers is to maximize data transmission efficiency (hence "Transmission Control" Protocol). There's nothing scary or sinister about it.

  • I wrote a 15-page term paper about Net Neutrality last semester. I feel it's important to clarify that, according to obscene amounts of research on the subject, censorship generally isn't the problem with net neutrality, but that neutrality proponents don't appreciate how difficult it is to essentially remove the TCP/IP protocol from the entire Internet as we know it and replace it with something 'fairer', an unquantifiable and unmeasurable goal anyway. Still a problem of ignorance though.

  • @HumbleWillis even the BBC in 1998 knew what Clinton wanted to do with the surplus it is no secret. He paid off part of the $3.7 trillion dollar defecit and had it on schedule to be paid off by 2015 and was wanting to increase spending on social security and medicare with the surplus. The republican on the other hand according to the article wanted to give tax cuts to the rich. What happened when Bush got into office shows you who got their way.

  • @FrankiePoker Tax cuts have failed to create jobs in the United States and they cost the country revenue. They sure helped create jobs in countries like Mexico, China and other countries with cheap labor. I guess that is why deregulation and breaking the Unions fit so well into the Republicans jobs program. Then they move companies back here and create jobs with cheap labor like the countries where all the jobs lost here during the Bush Administration went to.

  • @HumbleWillis I seen congress in session debating Health Care reform and seen what was going on. I think it was cspan but not sure. I remember congress in session for the Health Care Reform debates so yes it was on.

  • @oakstave yeah ... the public record of what happened behind closed doors. Didn't Obama promise this would go on CSpan so that we could all see what really goes on? Oh, but it wasn't on CSpan ... we just have to take their word for it.

  • @HumbleWillis: I guess if you are correct, the question changes to: Why were the Republicans hiring socialist Union members to write their legislation? What exactly was the relationship between Neo-Cons and Socialist Unions?

  • @HumbleWillis What drivel. Reagan was the inventor of the Trillion Dollar Deficit. He taught us that by living on an unlimited credit card, we could be 'rich' for awhile.

  • @HumbleWillis Incorrect: The public record indicates it was written by 18 republicans and 2 moderate democrats. Unless you are making the point that ALL legislation is written in this way, in which case the point is moot anyway.
